Bedding Tip
Bedroom Furniture
When arranging your bedroom furniture, always leave a small gap between the backs of dressers, nightstands, and headboards and the wall. This space allows air to circulate, which prevents moisture from getting trapped. Trapped moisture can lead to mold on your walls and can even cause wood furniture to warp or swell over time. A gap of just an inch or two is all you need. This simple trick helps your furniture last longer and keeps your walls in better shape, saving you from bigger repairs down the road.
A squeaky bed frame or wobbly dresser is often a quick fix. First, tighten every screw, bolt, and nut you can find using basic tools like a screwdriver or a wrench. If the squeak or wobble continues, the problem is usually loose joints where the wood pieces connect. For a permanent repair, apply a small amount of wood glue into the loose joint, then tighten the hardware back up. Wipe away any glue that squeezes out immediately with a damp cloth. Use clamps or heavy books to hold the piece firmly together for at least a few hours while the glue dries. This will make your furniture sturdy and quiet again.
