Flooring Tip
Artificial Grass
Artificial grass is a great way to have a green lawn without the mowing, but sometimes it needs a little TLC. If you notice a small tear or seam coming apart, a simple repair kit can fix it. First, clean the area and make sure it’s completely dry. Then, apply a special outdoor adhesive tape underneath the tear, press the grass back together, and weigh it down with a heavy book for a few hours. For bigger holes, you might need to cut a patch from a leftover piece of turf. Just make sure the blades all face the same direction so your patch blends in perfectly.
Beyond repairs, you can use artificial grass for fun DIY projects to spruce up your home. It’s perfect for creating a clean, green space on a balcony or patio. You can cut it to size to make soft, weatherproof mats for by the door. Get creative and use smaller pieces to line the bottom of a planter box for a neat look, or even cover a boring old bench seat for a pop of color. The key to any project is a good, flat surface and using a sharp utility knife to make your cuts. A little brushing with a stiff broom afterward will make the blades stand up tall and look brand new.
