This automatic reversal is not a malfunction of the door itself but rather a critical safety feature in action. Modern garage door openers are equipped with sensors and mechanisms designed to prevent injury or damage, and when they detect an obstruction or an imbalance, they are programmed to halt and reverse direction. Understanding the common culprits behind this behavior is the first step toward restoring smooth, reliable operation.
