Use upholstered plywood, reclaimed wood planks, or a large tapestry mounted on the wall.

Use ¾" for heavy loads (books), ½" for lightweight decor, and add edge support or brackets for spans over 24".

Clean with lemon + salt, then condition monthly with food-grade mineral oil.
