Installation and maintenance also play a role in long-term performance. Self-adhesive varieties simplify DIY projects but may lose stickiness in extreme temperatures. Mechanically fastened strips, while more labor-intensive, provide a more permanent solution. Regularly inspect weather stripping for signs of wear, such as peeling, cracking, or gaps, and replace it promptly to maintain energy efficiency.
